About the Artist: Sean Harty was born June 1st 1983 in Norfolk, VA, but grew up in central Kansas. As a child he was often shy, introverted and suffered from serious deppression. All these things would create a need for him to express himself in a non verbal manner.
All his works are done with a propane torch, spray paint or acrylic on wood panel and bone, or with cigarettes and lighter on leaves. The idea is not only to create pieces that allow him to speak his mind but to also show that an element that is so often used to destroy can also be used to create, and that just because somthing is dead does not mean it cant still be beautiful, even if it is in a dark way.
Sean currently lives in Lawrence Kansas where he works as a tattoo artist. His works have been shown in Kansas and Chicago.
