About the Artist: I am a self-taught artist. For the past 29 years, I have worked in the sign making business. My roots are in traditional sign painting-by hand, with a brush. I've been making art my entire life, but I got serious about it around a dozen years ago. Making sense of the complexities and mysteries of life on this three-layered cake called Earth can be pretty overwhelming, but through my art works, I try to give some shape to the shadows and cloud glyphs that are the stuff of my mental process—recognizable shapes that make sense and give comfort to my over-active mind, with its jammed-open filter ports of input discrimination.
Recently, my wife, Kaye, who is also an artist, and I left Northern California and have moved to the Oregon Coast. However, I didn't leave behind my need to explore through art the mysteries of life in this realm of existence. I've just given myself new latitude for the exploration. The longitude remains pretty much the same.
